Hi, my name is Ryan and I am the head stylist.
I’ve been a hairdresser since the age of 18! I worked at MP’s as a junior under John Phelps and Paul McCullough until the age of 25.
I then went on to Cream hairdressing with Scott Smurthwaite where i was a stylist for 3 years. i then ventured out to open my own salon Fortey’s which was open for 8 years in Eastgate Street Gloucester.
When I saw the opportunity of the regeneration of the Gloucester dock, I relocated and created a new salon called Head Kandy.

Hi, my names is Louisa,
I am artistic director at Head Kandy. I joined the team in June 2014 – it’s such an amazing place to work! I love it!
I love the fact I get to do the thing I love for a living, I love the environment that we work in it just gets better and better! The docks is buzzing there is never a dull moment! I love hearing our customer’s stories and tales of their amazing livelihood’s.
I am a mummy of three beautiful boys who keep me very busy at home; they keep me stocked up with crazy tales to tell my fab clients. So a bit about my history in hairdressing: I began hairdressing in 1997, half of my lifetime ago!
I trained as an apprentice at Peter Hickman’s, and then I worked at Maine hair salon for nearly 4 years. I then moved on to Toni and Guy where I worked for 2 and a half years until I fell pregnant with my first baby. Shortly after returning to work I started at KCK’s now known as Be Hair, where I worked for just shy of 10 year. I loved my times there and really grew in my profession; in that time I had two beautiful boys, got married and bought a house, completed a sky dive and did lots of travelling.
After returning to Be Hair and having my youngest son, I felt it was time for a new challenge, so here I am refreshed and renewed and so full of creativity with a new zest of life for hairdressing, looking forward to meeting new and existing clients!

I have been working at head Kandy for 5 years; I started here when I was 15 years old as a trainee.
I did my training in both Gloucestershire College and Head Kandy. I love the salon environment, being a team member and meeting new people which Head Kandy gave me that opportunity to do.
I am now a Graduate stylist within the salon and I am really enjoying building up a loyal clientele as well as still learning new things. I’m always looking for the latest hairstyles, different techniques and love a challenge!.
